Muzzys R & D opened it doors in 1988 in Hesperia, CA. Founder Rob Muzzy, a well established tuner in the motorcycle industry had a vision "to share with the consumer the high quality products that he developed and used in his championship racing efforts". The goal was to offer "factory" level racing engines for the privateer as well as the production of Muzzys own high performance exhaust systems.

 

From these humble beginnings came one of the best recognized exhaust names the world has ever seen. Rob's ties to motorcycle racing started in the 1950's as a racer and a tuner. As his skills developed, so did his popularity. This landed him several jobs for major manufacturers and eventually lead him to his relationship with Kawasaki and the Muzzy Kawasaki racing effort. Muzzys Exhaust Systems have supported various racing categories throughout it's history but none more than roadracing and dragracing. In fact Muzzys Kawasaki is responsible for 18 professional racing titles.

 

In 1990 Rob was ready for a change of scenary and decided to open up his race shop in Bend, OR for the Muzzy Kawasaki race team. A couple of years later he moved Muzzys R&D and his Muzzys exhaust production to the small town in Oregon. During this time Muzzys had started competing in AMA Prostar drag racing and their product line expanded. In addition to Muzzys Exhaust Systems and Muzzys slip on exhaust, they began carrying products such as air operated shifters, nitrous kits, billet cylinder blocks, and turbo charger kits to name a few. Muzzys also expanded their product line to include Muzzys dirt bike exhaust and Muzzys ATV exhaust.
