Do you need help picking the right ATV exhaust?

Whether you are using your ATV for work or play at some point you are going to look into an ATV exhaust purchase. Making the right choice when selecting your ATV exhaust pipes may not be easy. With hundreds of ATV exhaust pipes to choose from and every exhaust company claiming to be the best it is sometimes hard to determine which ATV exhaust systems are right for you.

Many of the ATV exhaust pipes available on the market are very specialized to a specific type of riding. This is because terrain and the way people use their ATV’s vary so much. Whether you are racing, riding in sand dunes, mud, nasty weather, through dips, over logs, up hills, or on top of rocks, there is an exhaust for you. The trick is finding the exhaust that is going to work best. To do this, the first step is understanding the features that you need. This will narrow down which exhausts you want to consider.

ATV racing is a huge growing segment of our market. With companies like Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Polaris, Arctic Cat, Maxxis, Oneal, and KYMCO now offering contingency for ATV racing the competition to win is getting stiffer and stiffer. The difference between a win and finishing off the podium often comes down to the type of exhaust you are running. In order to compete and win in series like the GNCC’s, WORKS, SCORE, and WPSA it is crucial that you have the added horse-power of an aftermarket ATV exhaust. The Yoshimura TRC ATV Exhaust Systems, the FMF Factory4.1 ATV Exhaust Systems, or the Pro Circuit Ti-4 Slip On with Pro Circuit head pipes are all capable of leveling the playing field. ATV racers generally are looking for exhausts that reduce weight, increase middle to top-end horse-power, and deliver snappy but useable throttle response. ATV’s built specifically for use in the sand dunes can also utilize racing ATV exhaust systems.

Using ATV’s for hunting is another sector that has really grown. Obviously putting a race exhaust on your hunting ATV is not the ideal situation. Again, understanding what you need is very important. When you are out hunting the last thing you want is a lot of unnecessary noise. In order to avoid disturbing the game you are hunting, other people enjoying the public land, and in some cases meeting the Forestry Services 96 decibel sound level and spark arrestor requirements to avoid getting a fine, choosing the right exhaust can prove to be your biggest asset. Some exhaust companies boast that their exhaust can deliver up to a 50% decrease in sound level. We suggest the FMF “Q” and the Pro Circuit Nature Friendly exhaust to our customers that use their ATV’s for hunting. When you are out hunting you want to make sure you have an exhaust that mounts up to your ATV with a good fit. Otherwise you may find yourself in a situation where the exhaust rattles against the frame killing any noise reduction the exhaust is providing. Another pit fall you want to look out for is an exhaust that sticks out to far from your machine or mounts low because this situation makes the exhaust much more prone to damage by passing rocks and trees.

Many farmers find that the best tool that they have at their disposal is their ATV. If you are planning on using your ATV for farming, horse-power may not be as important to you as low-end torque. When you are using your ATV to tow 1000 lbs and carry 300 lbs on the racks you want to give your work-horse an exhaust that delivers more power on the bottom end. A durable exhaust that is not prone to dings and dents is definitely something that should be considered for a farming ATV. If your farm contains livestock the noise level of your utility ATV exhaust may also be a concern of yours to prevent your animals from getting spooked. The exhaust systems suggested for hunting can often be dual purpose exhausts and perform quite well on a farm. Some other utility ATV exhaust that we highly suggest for farming include the Cobra Quiet/Utility and the FMF Powerline utility ATV exhaust systems.

Another sector that is quickly gaining popularity is the UTV. Utility vehicles like the Yamaha Raptor and the big V-Twin Kawasaki Teryx 750 4X4 are being seen on trailers all over the country with increased frequency. Exhaust manufacturers have started to release great new products to increase the performance of these utility vehicles. A UTV exhaust that we highly suggest looking into is the Yoshimura RS-3D. You’ll love the weight reduction and power gains of this UTV exhaust!

The right exhaust is out there for your ATV or UTV. Make sure you know what is going to suite your needs best, do your research (manufacturers websites are a great place to start), ask for feedback from others in your situation, you are sure to find the exhaust that fits all of your ATV riding needs.

Remember, at JC Motors we have exhaust prices you will love and the performance exhaust you crave. Tell your friends all about the great prices on exhaust at JC Motors – Where Riders Get Deals!
