It is time to pick out an ATV exhaust and you want to know what your options are right? Well you have come to the right place! With all of these manufactures to choose from and each manufacturer producing several different exhaust models for each ATV you have a ton of options.

It is important to remember that not all exhausts are created equal. In fact with so many types of riding you can purchase two exhausts for your ATV and they can have completely different characteristics. Because they have different characteristics it is important to understand what type of riding you will use your ATV for most, and purchase the ATV exhaust that suites your riding needs best.

For example, if you are purchasing a Yamaha Pro Circuit Banshee exhaust and you are planning on primarily riding on tracks then you may want a Banshee exhaust with good bottom end and strong usable mid-range power. This will help you coming out of turns and negotiating through traffic on a track. In contrast, if you primarily use your Banshee in the sand you would want to purchase a Yamaha Banshee exhaust that produces a lot of top end power so you can keep your RPM’s up when your racing across the dunes.

In the last 10 years or so the number of 4-stroke ATV’s on the market has sky rocketed. Many of these ATV’s are actually utilizing fuel injection as opposed to carburetion. I mention this because when you purchase a full exhaust system it is sometimes necessary to adjust your fuel mapping. For example, if you purchase a Honda TRX 400ex exhaust it may be necessary to re-jet your carburetor. A slip on Cobra Jet 400ex exhaust may not need the same modification but it is important to check for optimal performance of your machine. The 400ex exhaust is a good example of what to do with carburation but what if your bike is fuel injected? If you are purchasing a full exhaust system for a newer ATV that is fuel injected like the Yamaha Raptor 700 you may need to look into remapping your fuel injection for optimal performance.
